Kuler Challenge

When I was playing around with kuler yesterday, this is the scheme that got me really excited

NB// The colour on the end isn't black, it's actually a really deep grape.

I just love it. So it' going to be what I base my next scrapping project on this week. If you want to come and play with me too I'd love to see your project. It doesn't have to be scrappy, it could be anything crafty! Just leave a link to your blog post/online gallery image in the comments on this post so I can see what you have created. Tell your friends! I'd love to see how these colours inspire the crafty ones out there :)

On an instructional note, Amy has asked how I get the images from kuler. Our main computer at  home is a Mac. I use a screen capture program called Grab. I can take a "photo" of a selection of what is displayed on screen, save it as a TIFF, then open it in a photo editing program to crop and add text.

On a PC the only way I know of is to do a screen cap (Ctrl+Print Screen) then paste (Ctrl+V) into a blank Publisher document. In publisher 2007, you can crop the image using the image tool bar, then right click and select "save as image". This will save just the image as an independent file.

Hope this helps Amy :)

Fun With Colour

I have discovered (through Kevin & Amanda) a really cool site for colour inspiration. It's called Kuler. Check it out, there are literally THOUSANDS of different colour themes to help inspire you. I have just joined up so that I could create and post my very own colour theme, and here it is:

I'm using this theme on a layout I'm working on. It's my bandwagon of the month!

New Year's Mantra

OK, OK so I am slightly behind the times with the whole New Year's Resolution post LOL. But is is still January (for another eight or nine hours)!

While up in the middle of the night with a toothache a couple of weeks ago (that's a whole other story!) I stumbled across a show called "The Perfect Housewife". Think Shannon Lush only British and anally retentive LOL. Anyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that I am the first to jump on any new organisational band-wagon LOL. Now, I believe the show has gotten a bit of a bad wrap for being archaic, sexist or whatever, but I think anyone with at least half a brain can tell that the whole thing is a little tongue-in-cheek. See for yourself:

Anyway, I digress, In the particular episode that I saw, Anthea shared her mantra for decluttering. I LOVE it!

If it's not beautiful, useful or extremely sentimental you don't need it. I was so inspired that I have made myself a little reminder:

So if you too feel that 2010 is your year to declutter and be free try this little mantra on for size :)

B-E-A-Utiful Blogs

My hairdresser sent me on a bit of a blog-hop yesterday. I started at the blog of a local wedding photographer that she had worked with in the past called Pixel Magix. So having a little poke around on their blog I found this post . . . . OH MY!!!! I know this is soooo cliche, but seriously, do yourself a favour and invest the time to check out all the beautiful, inspirational blogs that they list. Fabulous photography, fabulous style, fabulous ideas - truly inspirational. Obviously all wedding themed and totally gorgeous.

Here are some of my favourite images from my bloggy adventure:
